Do You Really Know What’s In Your Food? Try Sewer Sludge.

That’s right, sewer sludge from New York is being sprayed for free on fields Nationwide.  Human feces which has been found to carry such diseases as E-Coli and Salmonella is being shipped and sprayed for free on the very fields that ultimately put food on American’s tables.

The reprocussions are there as well, contaminated fields no longer capable of being farmed, dead herds, contaminated milk and sick animals all have been reported.   For the company responsible, they claim they will just keep on spraying and you, the average citizen, will probably never know which fields and foods are at risk.

Sewage Sludge Banned From Crops (by Karen Middleton)

Processed human waste will no longer be brought into Limestone County, Ala., for distribution as fertilizer on fields.

Monday, County Commission Chairman David Seibert said the county had “reached a settlement” with a company, Synagro Technologies, which early last fall drew complaints from northwest county residents who complained of a strong odor after the company spread the free bio-solids on fields there.

Synagro Technologies has a contract to dispose of human wastes from New York. The company, which operates with approval from the Environmental Protection Agency, treats sludge from wastewater plants in New York and ships it to Alabama by rail car. The sludge is treated at a plant in Leighton, and then offered at no charge to farmers in Limestone County to fertilize their fields. About 40 farmers signed up to receive the sludge.

In Georgia, a farmer’s cattle died and the milk from another farmer’s cattle was contaminated from contact with sludge-treated fields. Last week, a federal judge ordered the Agriculture Department to compensate a farmer whose land was poisoned by sludge from the waste treatment plant near Augusta. His cows had died by the hundreds.

In October, the county had reached an agreement with the company after seeking an injunction against Synagro. Alabama Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks said Synagro officials had assured him they would no longer distribute the fertilizer on pastureland. Where it is spread, it would have to be worked into the dirt instead of being placed on top of the soil.

The company said it would continue to take sludge to the most remote locations for applications and would make deliveries just before application to reduce odor concerns. Company officials also said they would alter transportation routes to avoid populated areas and schools and explore additional odor reduction measurers to include additional processing and the use of more lime to neutralize the odor.

However, Seibert said that “about three weeks ago” the county reached a further agreement with Synagro to stop hauling sludge into Limestone County entirely.

“It’s just been taken care of,” said Seibert. “A settlement has been reached and I cannot talk about it further.”

Drugs In Drinking Water (Including From Your Tap)

March 10, 2008

A wide spread array of pharmaceuticals including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones, acetaminophens and ibuprofen, have been found in drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.
Yes you heard that correctly, while the concentrations are tiny and far below medical dose, the long term affect of these on human health is concerning.

During the five-month inquiry, AP discovered that drugs have been detected in drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas from East to West and North to South across the United States.

Alarming affects on human cells and wildlife have resulted in persistent exposure to random combinations of low levels of pharmaceuticals, these toxic cocktails found in our drinking water supplies are just as alarming.

Philadelphia = 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts including medications for pain, infection, high cholesterol, asthma, epilepsy, mental illness and heart problems.

Southern California = Anti-epileptic and anti-anxiety medications

Northern New Jersey = metabolized angia medication and mood-stabilizing carbamazepine

San Francisco = Sex hormones

Washington D.C. = Six Pharmaceuticals

Tucson, Arizona = Three medications, including antibiotics

New York = Heart medication, infection fighters, estrogen, anti-convulsants, mood stablizers and tranquilizers.

New Orleans = Sex hormone estrone, pain reliever naproxen, anti-cholesterol drug byproduct clofibric acid.

Arlington, Texas = pharmaceuticals

As the federal government does not require testing and has no safety limits for drugs in water supplies, out of 62 major water providers only 28 tested their drinking water supplies. Among those that haven’t include Houston, Chicago, Miami, Baltimore, Phoenix, Boston and New York City.

While some screen for one or two pharmaceuticals, they often ignore others which might be present.  And in many cases watersheds, the natural sources for most of the nations water supply, are also contaminated.

If this is not bad enough, there is evidence that adding chlorine, found in all conventional drinking water treatment plants, makes some pharmaceuticals more toxic.

In the 28 tested major metropolitan areas only Albuquerque, New Mexico; Austin, Texas; and Virginia Beach, Virginia; tested negative.

USDA In Hot Water Over Massive Beef Recall

Harsh words and unnerving facts were shared by Federal Lawmakers and Watchdog Groups Monday for the U.S.D.A.  The recent recall order of 143 million pounds of beef has finally woke up some to the lack of food safety that really does reside in this nation.

The recall came after an undercover Humane Society worker captured video showing crippled and sick animals being shoved with forklifts, shocked with batons, and having other forms of what could not be called anything less then torture, went public.

Westland/Hallmark Meat Co.  A Chino-based southern California slaughterhouse recalled meats dating back two years since February 1, 2006.

Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, Chairwoman of the House Agriculture, FDA Appropriations Subcommittee, stated she felt the video inhumane and that it “demonstrated just how far our food safety system has collapsed.”

DeLauro, D-Conn, requested an independent investigation into the government’s ability regarding safety of meat in nation’s schools since Westland was a major supplier of beef in the National School Lunch Program. DeLauro also requested Undersecretary Dick Raymond to gather a list of schools that might have received the recalled meat, as well as an explanation of other locations where the meat might have been sold commercially, and if it was mixed with any beef from other processor plants. She is also inquiring to the agencies addressing of staff shortages among slaugherhouse inspectors.  An issue that was raised by several food safety experts and watchdog groups.

In fact the lack of inspectors is a very serious concern.  Based on district anywhere from 7 percent to 21 percent of the positions have been left vacant by the USDA, according to a statement made by Felicia Nestor, senior policy analysis with Washington D.C. based Food and Water Watch.

Keith Williams, USDA spokesman denied the claim, stating they had no shortage of inspectors, and that the recall was done not for safety reason but to revoke the USDA seal of inspection for the meat processed at that plant. What he failed to address is how it took an undercover civilian to capture what the USDA failed to recognize.
What makes this most unnerving is that the meat was up to two years old and had mostly been already consumed. If there is that great of lack of monitoring of the food supply in this country. Imagine what serious heath risks could be lurking just around the corner, and be able to slip in without anyone catching it for years.

Former Employees Speak Out
Against Captain’s Galley Working Conditions
By David Kernodle

CHINA GROVE, NC — Employees of the China Grove restaurant that was shut down because of an E. coli outbreak are speaking out, saying that the conditions at the Captain’s Galley seafood restaurant were deplorable.

According to one employee, he was treated less like an employee, and more like a slave.

“They’re not taking care of the employees and their customers,” said one employee who wished to remain anonymous. “They’re mistreating their employees; they’re treating them like slaves.”

The Captain’s Galley location has been shut down, after the E. coli outbreak that health officials said could have been caused when employees slaughtered a goat after hours. That outbreak led to many becoming sick, including one who died.

But according to former and current workers there, tainted food was the least of the restaurant owner’s worries.

The couple, who wanted to go by the names Mamma and Poncho, asked to have their faces hidden and their names changed because they worry for their safety.

They said the owner hired four illegal immigrants, including Poncho, to work the kitchen. They said employees worked 12-hour shifts daily, and the owner paid them under the table, less than minimum wage, in what they considered hostile conditions.

“He said if anybody screwed him over, he knows people,” said Mamma of the owner.

Calls to the owner of Captain’s Galley were not immediately returned.

Employees of the Captain’s Galley said they were told the restaurant would not be reopened. Health officials said there are eight confirmed and 13 probable cases of E. coli connected to the Captain’s Galley.

Don’t Eat The Poultry…it might contain TB.

Filed under: Illegal Alien, Communities, Food Threats, Politics, Diseases — Administrator @ 6:59 am

In a recent Associated Press article. The House has approved $50 billion dollars to aid health workers treating patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis over seas yet failed to do anything about the threat to American citizens health from illegal aliens working illegally in poultry plants, food processing plants, and other public service jobs across the nation.

Illegal Immigrants Spread Tuberculosis At Poultry Plant

A tuberculosis outbreak at a South Carolina poultry plant is yet another example of the serious threat presented by illegal immigrants who health officials say were infected in their home country before coming to the United States.

So far 131 workers at the Greenville plant have tested positive for the fatal decease that primarily affects the lungs but can also spread to the kidneys and spinal column. State health officials began testing workers a few weeks ago after the first individual confirmed active tuberculosis. So far 286 employees have been tested.

An official with the South Carolina Department of Health said the plant’s percentage of TB cases is unusually high because most of the workers come from other countries where the disease is more prevalent. In fact, foreign-born people account for most of the TB cases nationwide and the greatest number (25%) come from Mexico.

The situation is becoming a crisis in the Carolinas because every year thousands of illegal immigrants go there to work in poultry, construction and other industries. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control reports that there are about 300 new TB cases a year in South Carolina alone.

This is because, unlike legal immigrants who must first submit to a health test, those who enter the country illegally may carry a variety of contagious and fatal deceases that will go undetected until communities are seriously threatened.

TB outbreaks at U.S. poultry plants are nothing new because they tend to hire lots of illegal immigrants as recent immigration raids have proven. Back in 2002 the National Institutes of Health published an alarming report attributing a TB epidemic in Delaware’s poultry plants to the fact that most workers were from Mexico and Guatemala, countries where the decease is prevalent.

INTERNET AND TALK RADIO SAVING AMERICA

By Frosty Wooldridge
June 21, 2007
NewsWithViews.com

Senator Trent Lott this week erupted in front of the cameras, “Talk radio is running America,” he said. “We have to deal with that problem.”

If you’re a burglar and someone shines a light on your activities, sure enough, you must deal with the ‘problem’ of being caught. Lott suffers distress from being exposed by talk radio. That illuminates his problems: lack of integrity and violation of his oath of office.

Lott knows no one shined a light on the 1986 amnesty. No one questioned the seven subsequent amnesties by Trent Lott, Teddy Kennedy, John McCain and the rest of those cockroaches running around the halls of Congress. No one questioned these ‘noble’ men’s disregard for enforcing those laws they created to serve a greater master—U.S. Chamber of Commerce and corporations. Today, we know Lott lies, McCain hides, Kennedy gorges and the rest of the Senate of the United States serves illegality over and above the U.S. Constitution.

“Well Aunt Bee, if you’re being lied to and cheated by politicians, what would you do?” asked Opie while rocking in the big rocking chair on the front porch in Mayberry.

“I’d call Andy Taylor to expose them for what they are doing to us common folks,” said Aunt Bee. “Or, maybe we should call the radio station…”

If not for talk radio hosts like Denver’s Peter Boyles and Gunny Bob Newman, George Putnam in Los Angeles, the John and Ken Show, Roger Hedgecock and dozens of others—Trent Lott and company would have shoved S. 1348 down America’s throat like a bar lizard drugging his victim for a date rape.

Talk radio gives voice to the voiceless! The Internet exposes gut level truths.

In a brilliant piece in the Magic City Morning Star, June 16, 2007, gutsy journalist Jan Herron wrote a column, “THE BAGMAN COMETH.”

“How brazen of “We, The People,” to inject our opinions into the debate!” she said. “English speaking talk radio listeners are the voices of intelligent and informed American citizens who are not buying snake oil from sell-out senators such as Trent Lott.”

Herron referred to the fact that the U.S. Senate’s amnesty bill offers American citizens a ‘bag of date-rape’ poison. She said, “Trent Bagman Lott must be referring to Spanish talk radio as to who is trying to “run” and “ruin” America. Perhaps Lott needs to tune into Spanish talk radio, I’m sure he’d feel right at home with his “pro-amnesty” compadres.”

Peter Boyles, on KHOW 630 AM exposes Bush’s support of the amnesty with a reasoned approach with expert witnesses. One of his guests, Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation, told the audience that 103 million people would be added to America in 20 years if the bill passed. Costs exceed $2.3 trillion for American taxpayers. You could ‘feel’ a collective gasp from hundreds of thousands across the airwaves. Rector mesmerized the audience. Boyles goes eyeball to eyeball with John Temple, publisher of the Rocky Mountain News in exposing biased reporting. Roger Hedgecock’s “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” in Washington, DC in March illuminated millions of listeners across the nation of the real aspects of S. 1348. George Putnam pounds away like a U.S. Marine who never stops defending his country. Jan Herron hits the keyboard while the radio hosts speak into the microphone.

“Devious and vigorous forces want to continue the flow of illegal aliens into America,” Herron said. “Trent Lott has joined the other bagmen in trying to push through yet another amnesty against the will of the people. The scheme seems staged, the fix is in, and our comments have no place in this scheme. “We, The People” are a real threat to Lott, Graham, Salazar, Kyl, and other bagmen. They want for us to become “Unplugged.”

Herron continued, “Congress fails to represent American citizens. Are we to conclude that those who have not spoken up approve of our country being invaded with illegal aliens, or are they just “chicken little cowards” as Trent Lott? Either way, Lott or these cowards shouldn’t be in office pretending to represent us, because they do not. And these same cowards shouldn’t take for granted the tenacity of “We the People” or underestimate our willingness to do what needs to be accomplished to preserve the sovereignty of this country. We will tune into TALK RADIO as we darn well please, Mr. Lott!”

“We the People” voiced our opinions in sending the “NO AMNESTY” message to Congress last week,” Herron said. “It’s obvious Senator Trent Lott takes, “We, The People” for granted as he now has added his name to the list of bagmen singing the President’s praises.

Herron exposed little known facts: “California is a prime example of the “open borders catastrophe.” California’s 1965 population of 18 million has now doubled to over 36 million, largely from immigration. It’s projected to 56 million in 30 years, again from immigration.

“A full 96 percent of California’s 1990s-era population explosion came from immigration.

“California’s Central Valley is heavily agricultural and a breadbasket for much of the nation. Within 25 years, 50 percent of that agricultural area is slated for bulldozing to accommodate housing and services demanded by increased immigration.

“California must now build one new elementary school every day, 365 days a year to accommodate that explosion, much of it illegal aliens.

“California’s multi-year drought of the late 1970s has now spread to other Western states. Imagine the disaster when future California droughts affect 56+ million thirsty Californians!

“Today’s California is tomorrow’s America, a future of wall-to-wall bodies, social unraveling, destroyed resources and an exhausted environment created exclusively by mass immigration. It’s coming to your state soon!
