We can disgrace your flag but don’t touch ours.
In yet another amazing show of sheer arrogance on the part of Mexico. An Australia television show was forced to issue an apology to Mexico for their airing a segment of a reality television program known as “Big Brother” in which people were seen throwing water balloons at the Mexican flag.
Mexico’s Foreign Relations Department on Wednesday sent protest letters to the Television show as well as the Australian Government claiming their country flag had been desecrated on the show which aired June 15th.
I must wonder if Mexico bothered to send apologies to the American people when their own people burned, hung upside down, and wiped their bottoms with the U.S. Flag while standing on U.S. soil.? Somehow I doubt it.
Protest letters sent from Mexico claimed the country’s flag “has a long and proud history and it stands as a powerful symbol that identifies and unites Mexican citizens wherever they live.”
Of course one small overlooked fact about the show was that in one segment, contestants were asked to name the country from which Mexico won its independence. The correct answer is Spain. Yet the contestant that answered the United States of America was declared RIGHT!
