Illegal Alien Arrested On Drug Charges

Filed under: Drugs, News-Television, Uncategorized — Administrator @ 9:26 pm

OKLAHOMA – It took three long months of a join effort by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives  and the District 27 Drug Task Force.  But finally a illegal alien taking up residence in Tahlequah was arrested on various drug-related charges.

What began with several undercover purchases of drugs from Alex Gonzales, 23, ended with a traffic stop in Wagoner County on Tuesday, and several search warrants being issued, one involving a storage unit.
It was during these searches that task force agents found trafficking weight of what appeared to be cocaine along with a firearm. They also located an undisclosed amount of what appeared to be marijuana, an undocumented amount of cash, and two vehicles.

Gonzalez was found to have previous drug-related charges, and to have been in the country illegally.

The location of this drug seize is important in that it’s located in District 27 which is a known major drug trafficking corridor used by Mexican drug trafficking operations to transport their product, as well as proceeds from sales of product, into and out of the United States of America.

Gonzalez is now being held in the Wagoner County Jail on charges related to a traffic stop, as well as immigration charges, and pending further investigation, will be transferred to Cherokee County Jail.

City Controller’s Gang Plan Puts Mayor Antonio Villaraigose In Full Control.

LA DAILY NEWS

Maybe what the city of Los Angeles needs is a blueprint for dealing with blueprints.

With City Controller Laura Chick releasing her detailed plan for dealing with gangs, she included everything but how to wrest authority from the City Council.

In suggesting most anti-gang programs be placed under the direct authority of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Chick has escalated the rivalry between the mayor and City Council over how to run Los Angeles.

The council has proven itself unwilling to cede much of its authority – witness its recent decision complicating an effort to let neighborhood councils open council files – and again is proving reluctant.

Councilman Tony Cardenas, who has chaired the ad hoc committee on gangs and youth violence for the past two years, fired the opening salvo, reminding Chick, Villaraigosa and anyone who would listen that it is the City Council that will approve any citywide gang program.

Councilwoman Jan Perry joined in, questioning whether placing anti-gang programs in the Mayor’s Office would reduce their visibility and transparency – and hurt efforts already under way to combat gangs.

“There are a lot of good programs out there that I want to make sure are able to continue to operate,” Perry said. “I’m not comfortable with (Chick’s) recommendation. I think it needs a lot more input from those doing the work.”

Perry insisted her concerns were not about maintaining the council’s power.

“It’s making sure there is accountability and delivery of service,” Perry said. “Of course, the mayor plays a role, but I’m not sure it should be in charge of everything.”

It is Cardenas’ committee that will review Chick’s report. City Council President Eric Garcetti said he agrees with the report’s recommendation for greater accountability – but also said he is supporting a detailed review of the report by the ad hoc committee and of any other council panel that wants to look at it.

Chick said she hopes preliminary steps to implement her recommendations take place within six months.

For Villaraigosa, the idea of being in charge of all the city’s anti-gang programs fits with his new approach to dealing with the City Council – consult members but go ahead and do what he wants.

Such was the case last week when the council’s Transportation Committee held up his plans to turn Olympic and Pico boulevards into one-way streets.

The mayor issued an executive order and will wait for the council to catch up.

It also seems Villaraigosa is re-energized now that he’s no longer aggressively campaigning for Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid.

The mayor has returned to taking part in three, four and five events every day – often on widely varying topics – giving rise to jokes that he now has more events he can arrive to late.

To give Villaraigosa credit, he was on time last week to Chick’s news conference on an anti-gang strategy – and even found himself pressed into service in moving a box for Chick to stand on.

“That’s how I like to see the mayor,” Chick joked. “Working for me.”

The biggest local election news last week was the long-expected endorsement by Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke of Councilman Bernard Parks to succeed her on the Board of Supervisors.

State Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas, who is challenging Parks in the June 3 primary, said he was not surprised by the endorsement in the nonpartisan race.

“The Burke family and Parks family have maintained a longtime friendship,” Ridley-Thomas said. “It is not unusual or unexpected that a bond between friends would be a significant factor influencing Supervisor Burke’s political decision.

“Her endorsement is not a surprise. She and I met recently. She said she and Bernard are old friends and her endorsement was based on their mutual friendship.”

Ridley-Thomas boasts a number of union endorsements, but the biggest one now out there is U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Los Angeles.

Waters’ political operation carries a lot of weight in the district, but she has not been close in previous years to Ridley-Thomas.

Another drug tunnel uncovered between US, Mexico – Article

Associated Press – June 24, 2007 7:44 PM ET

MEXICO CITY (AP) – Police in Tijuana, Mexico, have discovered a narrow tunnel under the border into the US.

Officials say it was used to smuggle drugs and possibly undocumented migrants.

More than 50 tunnels have been discovered under the US-Mexico border. Increased border surveillance following 9-11 is thought to have prompted drug smugglers to go underground to avoid detection.

The latest discovery was made inside an area guarded by Mexican Treasury Department officials. Officials are investigating how the 32-foot long tunnel was able to operate so close to where federal officials were on duty.

Authorities found shovels, lanterns, batteries and other tools, but no drugs.

US officials have been filling at least six tunnels along the 2,000-mile border, at a cost of nearly three million dollars.

This photo provided by the U.S. Border Patrol shows one of the ramps used to drive across the barriers along the border.

SAN DIEGO – Border Patrol agents in East County seized hundreds of pounds of marijuana valued at almost three-quarters of a million dollars Wednesday from a truck that was driven over the border on metal ramps. An agent was patrolling the area about two miles east of Campo at 7:30 a.m. when he noticed a suspicious-looking 2006 Nissan Frontera heading westbound on state Route 94, said Supervisory Border Patrol agent Richard E. Smith.

The agent began to follow the truck but it made a U-turn and began to drive erratically, Smith said. The truck left the paved road and headed southbound on a dirt road toward Mexico.

The agent followed the truck to the border where he found about 20 people on the U.S. side erecting the ramps so the truck could get back into Mexico. Smith said the smugglers probably alerted their accomplices that they had been spotted.

The two occupants of the truck bailed out and the whole group ran back into Mexico. One of them turned and pointed a gun at the agent but did not fire, Smith said.

Agents confiscated the ramps and the pickup in which they found 60 packages of marijuana valued at $735,000.Smith said it is not uncommon for smugglers to use metal ramps to cross the border in areas that are blocked by steel vehicle barriers. The barriers, a horizontal bar anchored to posts in the ground with large boulders beneath, are designed to stop vehicles from driving across. They are much lower than the standard border fence. Agents found a similar ramp setup last week.

The ramps may be hidden nearby or driven to a spot and assembled, Smith said.

The Border Patrol said that Mexican authorities were called after the incident but did not respond.

INTERNET AND TALK RADIO SAVING AMERICA

By Frosty Wooldridge

Senator Trent Lott this week erupted in front of the cameras, “Talk radio is running America,” he said. “We have to deal with that problem.”

If you’re a burglar and someone shines a light on your activities, sure enough, you must deal with the ‘problem’ of being caught. Lott suffers distress from being exposed by talk radio. That illuminates his problems: lack of integrity and violation of his oath of office.

Lott knows no one shined a light on the 1986 amnesty. No one questioned the seven subsequent amnesties by Trent Lott, Teddy Kennedy, John McCain and the rest of those cockroaches running around the halls of Congress. No one questioned these ‘noble’ men’s disregard for enforcing those laws they created to serve a greater master—U.S. Chamber of Commerce and corporations. Today, we know Lott lies, McCain hides, Kennedy gorges and the rest of the Senate of the United States serves illegality over and above the U.S. Constitution.

“Well Aunt Bee, if you’re being lied to and cheated by politicians, what would you do?” asked Opie while rocking in the big rocking chair on the front porch in Mayberry.

“I’d call Andy Taylor to expose them for what they are doing to us common folks,” said Aunt Bee. “Or, maybe we should call the radio station…”

If not for talk radio hosts like Denver’s Peter Boyles and Gunny Bob Newman, George Putnam in Los Angeles, the John and Ken Show, Roger Hedgecock and dozens of others—Trent Lott and company would have shoved S. 1348 down America’s throat like a bar lizard drugging his victim for a date rape.

Talk radio gives voice to the voiceless! The Internet exposes gut level truths.

In a brilliant piece in the Magic City Morning Star, June 16, 2007, gutsy journalist Jan Herron wrote a column, “THE BAGMAN COMETH.”

“How brazen of “We, The People,” to inject our opinions into the debate!” she said. “English speaking talk radio listeners are the voices of intelligent and informed American citizens who are not buying snake oil from sell-out senators such as Trent Lott.”

Herron referred to the fact that the U.S. Senate’s amnesty bill offers American citizens a ‘bag of date-rape’ poison. She said, “Trent Bagman Lott must be referring to Spanish talk radio as to who is trying to “run” and “ruin” America. Perhaps Lott needs to tune into Spanish talk radio, I’m sure he’d feel right at home with his “pro-amnesty” compadres.”

Peter Boyles, on KHOW 630 AM exposes Bush’s support of the amnesty with a reasoned approach with expert witnesses. One of his guests, Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation, told the audience that 103 million people would be added to America in 20 years if the bill passed. Costs exceed $2.3 trillion for American taxpayers. You could ‘feel’ a collective gasp from hundreds of thousands across the airwaves. Rector mesmerized the audience. Boyles goes eyeball to eyeball with John Temple, publisher of the Rocky Mountain News in exposing biased reporting. Roger Hedgecock’s “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” in Washington, DC in March illuminated millions of listeners across the nation of the real aspects of S. 1348. George Putnam pounds away like a U.S. Marine who never stops defending his country. Jan Herron hits the keyboard while the radio hosts speak into the microphone.

“Devious and vigorous forces want to continue the flow of illegal aliens into America,” Herron said. “Trent Lott has joined the other bagmen in trying to push through yet another amnesty against the will of the people. The scheme seems staged, the fix is in, and our comments have no place in this scheme. “We, The People” are a real threat to Lott, Graham, Salazar, Kyl, and other bagmen. They want for us to become “Unplugged.”

Herron continued, “Congress fails to represent American citizens. Are we to conclude that those who have not spoken up approve of our country being invaded with illegal aliens, or are they just “chicken little cowards” as Trent Lott? Either way, Lott or these cowards shouldn’t be in office pretending to represent us, because they do not. And these same cowards shouldn’t take for granted the tenacity of “We the People” or underestimate our willingness to do what needs to be accomplished to preserve the sovereignty of this country. We will tune into TALK RADIO as we darn well please, Mr. Lott!”

“We the People” voiced our opinions in sending the “NO AMNESTY” message to Congress last week,” Herron said. “It’s obvious Senator Trent Lott takes, “We, The People” for granted as he now has added his name to the list of bagmen singing the President’s praises.

Herron exposed little known facts: “California is a prime example of the “open borders catastrophe.” California’s 1965 population of 18 million has now doubled to over 36 million, largely from immigration. It’s projected to 56 million in 30 years, again from immigration.

“A full 96 percent of California’s 1990s-era population explosion came from immigration.

“California’s Central Valley is heavily agricultural and a breadbasket for much of the nation. Within 25 years, 50 percent of that agricultural area is slated for bulldozing to accommodate housing and services demanded by increased immigration.

“California must now build one new elementary school every day, 365 days a year to accommodate that explosion, much of it illegal aliens.

“California’s multi-year drought of the late 1970s has now spread to other Western states. Imagine the disaster when future California droughts affect 56+ million thirsty Californians!

“Today’s California is tomorrow’s America, a future of wall-to-wall bodies, social unraveling, destroyed resources and an exhausted environment created exclusively by mass immigration. It’s coming to your state soon!
