Johnny Manuel Lara is charged with the murder of Larry Wayne Billot (51). Mr. Billot died of a gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
Lara and a second suspect, in attempting to cover up his crime, drove off in Billot’s vehicle, and some distance away intentionally set Billot’s rented 2007 P.T. Cruiser on fire.
The second suspect involved in the shooting and arson is still at large.
