For those unaware of Shawna Nelson, she is being held on charges of first-degree murder. Shawna was arrested for an execution-style shooting death of Heather Garraus (37) on January 23, 2007. Shawna Nelson claims innocence to the murder, citing that she was actually driving to the liquor store at the time of the death but had forgotten her purse and was returning home when arrested in her husbands truck.
Shawna Nelson and Heather Garraus were involved nothing short of a love triangle, involving Nelson, Garraus and Garraus’s husband Ignacio Garraus. Garraus had broken up with Nelson roughly a month before the shooting took place.
Shawna Nelson’s best friend who is charged with conspiracy in the 2007 murder of Heather Garraus struck a plea agreement and will be testifying against Shawna Nelson. It is believed that Michelle Moore aided Nelson to plan the murder, including informing her of the attire to wear.

Shawna Nelson’s husband had agreed to testify against his wife. It is believed that Ken Nelson, Shawna’s husband briefly took the gun involved in the killing. Later he turned it over to law enforcement.
